I was in the market for a new laptop. The old one did well when we shot SD, but now that we are ACVHD based, it wasn’t able to handle the load, and had been relegated to doorstop status. Not wanting to purchase an additional license for CS5.5, and really only needing to do ‘cuts-only’ editing on location with maybe some common transitions, I decided to give Premiere Elements a try. What a treat! It handles our AVCHD footage wonderfully, and not necessarily on a muscle machine. Plus, once back at the suite, I can import the project DIRECTLY into PPro CS5.5.

Now, if I could only figure a way to go the other way with a CS5.5 project.
