Premiere Defaults (specifically Playback Settings)
Hello, I work on a high volume of projects for different clients. I end up creating 2 or 3 new projects per day, and I just realized that I end up wasting a lot of time changing premiere default settings around. One setting in particular, the “Playback Settings.” Premiere seems to default to the “Desktop Audio” setting in the Playback Settings window. We have external firewire hardware running into a rack and external speakers (as well as the audio running to a beta deck). Unfortunately, every time I switch this setting to “External Audio Device”, premiere refuses to playback. I have to save, close the project, and reopen it for the project to be fully functional again. All of this may take under a minute, but over the course of a few weeks, it really adds up.
My question is, is there any way to change the default settings that the program uses to create new projects? There doesn’t seem to be any kind of template system, and I can’t for the life of me find a way of telling premiere to use the current settings on all new projects.
I guess my beef is that it appears that Premiere has a severe lack of customizability when it comes to creating project defaults.
