Premiere CS6 Workflow Question (DaVinci, Timecodes and Proxies)
I’m hoping to get a few different answers to this and hopefully reach a nice outcome.
I’m currently setup to edit a 24 minutes episode shot a bunch of Canon EOS DSLR’s. I’m collecting all of the footage and am currently trying to work out the best workflow. I’ve edited for this show before but I was using Sony Vegas (which didn’t play nice with the EDL’s). So it’s my first time doing a proper exportable edit in Premiere Pro and I need to make sure it’s correct 🙂
Also I’m on a PC.Here’s what I would like to do. Convert all of my footage with either MB Grinder, Cineform Neoscene or 5DtoRGB to pull out the maximum colour latitude (it was mostly shot on a Cineform picture style).
I also need to attach timecode (either user defined or daytime from the THM files) using QT Change or with one of the above programs.I also wish to replace these with proxy files (perhaps using MPEG Streamclip) so they run a bit smoother in my setup then replace them in the end. And finally it needs to be able to roundtrip with After Effects or DaVinci Resolve.
Okay. That was a lot of text. I have a basic handle on how to complete this however I’m not too sure on the order, the specifics and what the best programs to use will be.
Any input, opinions, thoughts and solutions would be absolutely wonderful!
Thank you 🙂
