I’m really digging on the new version of Premiere. However, I’m having an issue that when I have a series of really short cuts (in this instance, 6 clips back-to-back, 3 frames in length), the Program monitor lags, even if I render the sequence. Export is ok, but it’s making editing impossible. The sequence setting is set to DSLR (I’ve transcoded and non-transcoded), but like I said, the problem exists even after rendering. Also playback set to 1/2 res, so I would think data bandwidth shouldn’t be an issue.

All the clips are ProRes LT 1080p, running off a RAID 0 through firewire 800. My system is a Macbook Pro 2011, 2.2Ghz i7, 16GB RAM, OSX 10.7.4 and CS6, AMD Radeon HD 6750M (has Mercury support).

Tried the same sequence in FCP 7, it worked smoothly, no problem. Any suggestions? Premiere handles the bells and whistles so quickly, so I’m wondering why edits are giving it a hissy fit. Thanks all.

I have similar issues that I am now experiencing slowdowns with the updates to CS6.01 and the new version of Lion. I notice my external firewire raid 800 disk is nearly always being accessed — in premiere and out of it. It is spinning now. I turned off spotlight on it.

    Suggestions and similar experiences appreciated
