    Hello there,
I am switching from FCP 7 to Premiere CS6 and am having some workflow issues. The footage was shot with 2 canon 5D cameras and audio recorded on zoom. For multi-cam to work seamlessly in premiere, I found that I need to export new synced masterclips. I don’t know what these export settings should be. I want the best quality but don’t want it to take up as much space as pro-res. I tried the “Android Tablet setting” (final output is web HD / ipad) and footage is banding and pixelated. When I say “match sequence” settings, I get an mpeg file that my computer can’t play.

Suggestions welcomed. Thanks so very much.

If you’re trying to get out of h.264 .mov’s (which come from your Canon 5DII), then Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD are easily the 2 best size to quality choices.

You could try Sony XDCAM format or a DVCPRO HD setting. Those should come in slightly smaller than the aforementioned preferred codecs. Or you can always edit natively in CS6. Just leave the files in their original .MOV wrapper as h.264 files and edit away.

FYI – Any setting that says Andriod, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV, DVD, or Blu-ray are not going to be good quality and are not edit friendly.

Why not try out our app?
WooWave Sync Pro instead of using Plural Eyes?
