July 9, 2013 at 7:08 pmyipes, i always get nervous when i install drivers.
this was genuinely working perfectly before i ran the anti-virus yesterday… shouldn’t i just re-install the old drivers if anything?

July 9, 2013 at 7:15 pmNo the latest Quadro drivers work fine. There is no reason to use older drivers unless you have to. Remember the memory management can change for CUDA based on what driver version that is used.

July 9, 2013 at 7:42 pmHi erik, I updated the drivers. Didn’t work, still can’t run with hardware MPE.

July 9, 2013 at 7:50 pmWhat Sequence settings are you using with this project? What happens if you import a sequence from that project into a DSLR 1080 sequence?

July 9, 2013 at 7:51 pmthe project settings i’ve been using are DSLR 1080. but again, they worked perfectly before the anti-virus scan (combofix)

July 9, 2013 at 8:03 pmI am completely aware that they worked before the incident. That doesn’t mean you don’t rule out variables. The short fix to this is Re-install Adobe and or then the OS, testing in that order since the Restore points are not available. I am simply attempting to isolate versus the extreme. If time is more important then proceed with the Re-installs. Right now it’s looking like some application or something is grabbing ram in the range the MPE engine/video driver requires it. When you add a second display then that will change the ram allocation for player/hardware MPE. Have you tried Scanning with this yet?

July 9, 2013 at 8:54 pmhi Erik – i definitely appreciate your help. i’d like to avoid re-installing the OS if i can. i don’t mind re-installing Premiere… but do you think that will really do anything considering the problem seems to be RAM/GPU related?

July 9, 2013 at 9:37 pmeric – if it helps, i was running Premiere on my external monitor with GPU Acceleration. i then unplugged my laptop from the external monitor, and was running Premiere with GPU acceleration with my laptop’s display. it was perfectly fine. then i restarted Premiere with GPU acceleration and it went back to no video and crashing.
