premiere CS5.5 only capturing mp3?
I have CS5.5 newly installed and am having an issue capturing from my Sony HDR-HC5 over firewire 800 port to my macbook pro.
Device control is recognized and working properly, I’m able to log clips, and I’m able to start capturing…BUT it doesn’t capture an mpeg or avi – just an mp3 file that is not recognized (go figure).
Can anyone help?

If all the settings seem ok but your Premiere is capturing as mp3 you must change the extension of your captured mp3 files to “.m2ts” and they will work. ( i.link conversion must be turned off in the camera’s settings in order to capture HDV)
If your capture doesn’t show video in playback,
copy “mc_dec_mp2v.dll”
from
C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Premiere Pro CS5.5PLibs
to
C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Premiere Pro CS5.5
