Premiere cs4 plug in?
Hi there,
I’m working on my first video edit using Premiere CS4 on Windows.
I cannot view (in quicktime)or open the .mov files in Premiere. It says I am missing a codec?I tried a friends Mac with Final Cut and he could’nt open them either. He was saying that the files were not originally taken through the Sony browser/transfer program and were probably just dragged onto a hard drive.
The footage was shot on a SONY EDCAM EX-3 which CS4 supports?
I am running out of ideas how to open these files in premiere?Help please people!

What does the SONY EDCAM EX-3 user manual say about transfering video from the device to a computer?

I am editing the video on behalf of someone else.
I do not have any access to a user manual as the video was shot by a cameraman. -
Any chance of asking the cameraman?

Hi,
Maybe I can offer you a (temporary) sollution.
Maybe you can try to recode the files using a video decoder or converter into a format APP accepts?
Then at least you can start editing the files. Also you will find out if the files are corrupted. And maybe later you will find a sollution for the original material. That is, if the result of decoding is less then your demands. After the edit: Just make the converted footage offline and then “link media” to the original footage.
