Premiere Pro CS4 has different ways to setup playback settings from CS3.
I can’t preview in firewire, also I can’t export to tape, record to tape and nothing.

The wierd thing is: I can capture using firewire, but I can’t make the video signal on external device.

Important: I use an iMac and EVERYTHING goes fine with Final Cut Pro 5.
So it’s NOT a matter of cabe, FW card, Mac OS settings, external device setup, and so on.

It’s somenthing in this new CS4 settings that I can’t figure out how to preview on external device.

(I also have this problem on Windows, I’m hating CS4 version of Premiere)

    Any help?

Did you follow these instructions in the Premiere Pro Help?

    Cheers

In the Program Monitor (or source monitor) open the output menu (the tree rgb circles) then select “playback settings”.

A window will open. There you can select your external device.
