    Good day,

I just watched the chapters on compression in ‘Internet Killed the Videostar’. It was useful, but I haven’t been able to deduce the answer to my main question, hence I’m asking it here:

How might one go about exporting a PPRO CS4 file to Compressor? What codec, what format, etc? (To be sure, the idea is to export an uncompressed file to Compressor.) Also, I wonder if there is a solution that doesn’t take extremely long? For example, converting the PPRO file to the Apple Intermediate Codec will take a long time on my equipment.

I am working on a Intel iMac. The sequence in my PPRO file is 1080×720. The footage is HDV / NTSC (Canon HV20). The file is about an hour long.

    Thanks,

    Roger

Either stick with the native HDV format (which is the quickest and easiest, or export to the Apple Pro Res CODEC which will help compressor encode it slightly faster. It’s pointless sending an uncompressed file to compressor.
