  • Premiere CS4 alters my imported AE Comps.

I’m working on a project that requires me to key out .avi clips in AE. I name the keyed compositions after the clip names. (These are captured straight onto a laptop through OnLocation, so the clip names are things like “Clip 17.avi” and “Clip 22.avi”, which results in the compositions being named Clip 17 and Clip 22.)

When I then try to import these compositions into my Premiere Pro CS4 project, the program changes all the comps into the same comp.

I.e. I import the following comps: Clip 17, Clip 18, Clip 22, and Clip 23. When they are imported, they are all listed in the Project tab as Clip 23. (I have 4 copies of Clip 23 in otherwords.) This is not simply just changing the name of the comps, it changes them so that they are all actually the same comp. Premiere CS3 does NOT do this.

I have no idea why this happens. I have tried deleting the comps, renaming them, rekeying them, etc.

Anyone have this problem or know what might be causing this?

    Appreciate any help.
