I use Adobe Master Collection CS3 on both of my workstation and laptop computer. Both running the latest Windows XP.

On my Dell Precision T7400 workstation, I’m running dual quad core xeon processors @ 2.00Ghz with 4 gigs of ram.

My laptop is a Dell Precision M4300 running an Intel Core2 Duo CPU T9500 @ 2.60Ghz. with 4 gigs of ram.

You would think the workstation would outperform the laptop, but this is not the case. When rendering a duplicate project on both computers, the laptop can out render the workstation by about half the time. Has anyone run into this as to why my workstation would render slower? All drivers appear to be working correctly in the device manager. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have a bottleneck somewhere, or somehow Premiere isn’t taking advantage of the configuration. We just got 2 Corei7 boards with DDR3 (no even close to your config in power) and there is no comparison to my HP laptop running on the same CPU as T7400.

BTW, are you running a 64 bit OS?

Have you run any other performance testing? If you have Vista, even the simple windows experience index would tell you if something isn’t running right.
