Premiere CC – Intensity Prop
Posted by Warren Morningstar on August 6, 2013 at 5:26 pmWith upgrade from CS 6 to CC, Premiere no longer recognizes Blackmagic Intensity Pro card. I have installed the latest BM driver. Anybody know of a solution?

August 6, 2013 at 7:09 pmHi Warren,
Make sure you first uninstall the previous version of the Blackmagic drivers and then install 9.7.7. Also make sure to restart your computer.
If CC still fails to see the plugins, verify that they are in the correct directory. They should be located here:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0Lastly, you can try holding down the Shift key on launch. This will rescan the plugins.
Let me know if this doesn’t resolve your issue.

August 6, 2013 at 7:27 pmThanks, Peter. Did not resolve the problem. Is that path, per chance, for a Mac? I don’t find a similar directory structure on my Windows machine. I did find Program Files/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/ and in there a series of .prm files beginning with BMD, which I assume is Black Magic Device, but still no luck seeing the Intensity card when I try to select it for Audio Hardware inside Premiere CC. It did work in CS 6.

Do you see Blackmagic under the Playback preferences? This is where you will select Blackmagic for Video and Audio out.Audio Hardware is where you would map your audio.

August 6, 2013 at 7:48 pmNo, I just see Adobe Desk Top Audio and Adobe DV in the Playback drop down. I’ve confirmed the card is working, since I can access it directly with the Black Magic Media Express software.

August 6, 2013 at 8:10 pm– Did you first uninstall the previous version of the Blackmagic drivers and then install 9.7.7 plus restart your system?
– Do you have CS6 on the same system? You can try copying and pasting the plugins from the CS6 folder to the 7.0 folder.

August 8, 2013 at 10:11 pmHi Peter,
Not sure exactly what I did, but it is now working. Under ASIO settings, I found that both Speakers (High Definition Audio Device) and Speakers (Blackmagic Audio) were enabled. Disabling the High Definition speakers seemed to make the Black Magic card now pass audio.
Thanks for the suggestions. -
