    – Equipment: Mac Mini M1 Chip

    – Premiere Version: Started this project in Premier 2020 and thats where the issue started, Im now working from a 2021 version with a duplicated file that premiere auto generated, and still have the same issue.

    – Video framework: 3 camera multicam sequence w/ 3 microphones, therefore 3 audio tracks. I nested the video so I can multicam edit very fast.

    – Issue: Ok maybe Im an idiot and there is a key swipe that I screwed up, but here is the squeak: 1 hour video I have been editing. Throughout the entire process my audio has been fine. Suddenly the audio from audio source 2 is gone BUT the waveform is there. Audio gone, waveform there. Where did the audio go? This is not a speaker issue, I hear the audio and see the waveform from channels 1 & 3. Channel 2 is gone, waveform is there. Yes I have restarted, updated, blah blah checked all the obvious things.

    – Weird part: If I go back to the processed clip (so basically the unedited version of the nest) all audio is there and sounds great. Its all fine. So I dragged the processed clip (the one with the audio) into the version Im editing (the one without audio) and no audio for channel 2 will transfer over. So I must have done something, or something is screwed up, in the edited version.

What could it be? Please help!!

I’m two years late to help you but had the same problem and found no answers either.

Finally after troubleshooting, the solution I found was creating a new sequence and moving the clips to that. Basically, the playback only worked for so long but by breaking up sequences it worked just fine. Its a clunky solution but it works.

The problems are exactly the same as mine!

There are audio waveform in audio tracks but I can’t hear the sound.

I can hear the front part well, but I can’t hear it from somewhere.

I also run 5 video tracks and 3 sound tracks. Since a few days ago I can’t hear the back of the third audio track. This is progressing more and more. For example If you didn’t hear the 10 cuts from the back yesterday, you can’t hear 20 cuts today. I keep bringing the original source and changing it, but it’s too cumbersome and difficult to get many cuts. I don’t think it’s convenient to edit multi-cam in the premiere pro.
