Premiere + AE video = problem

Let’s first look at your preview. Is this in an external monitor or in the Premiere preview window ?

The Premiere preview window will never look as good as the export, since, even at full quality, it will be rasterized. So, either do a small uncompressed export, or take a look at it in an external monitor for a true quality assessment.

The second thing has to do with DV. If you ARE working in DV, bringing a title over footage will force a new compression to DV of that entire clip.
This change may not be drastic, but it will be noticeable.

Now, unless you are exporting to DVCAM / MiniDV, that doesn’t matter, since it will not reflect the final export; it’s only compressed for preview.

If Dynamic link is not an option, export your titles using the Quicktime Animation codec and remember to use Millions of Colors + (the + sign is important).

Remember to not use any white above 235,235,235 and no blacks below 16,16,16.

ehm, you can just open your AEfile in Premiere…
dynamic link ofers you things , like when you edit it in AE it wil adjust at the sametime in Premiere if both are on, very cool stuff.

oowhjea, another thing. “when you brought it to your timeline”, or at it to your composition. mayby the composition settings in AE where you’ve made your title and in Premiere are different. give that a look too.

The composition settings were the same in both applications,
when talking about the preview monitor I meant the left one in
Premiere.

I tried a lot of things but the results were still the same:(
The only solution that showed some improvement was when I exported
the finished project from Premiere to a quicktime file, animation
preset, and millions of colors +. But only when I would not
deinterlace it. Still, not deinterlacing made it look slightly better
but then you could see the lines and some artifacts were added:(

Any ideas?

That sounds pretty normal to me. Interlacing will of course be seen on a computer. De-interlacing will cut your resolution to nearly half.

No artifacts should be added however. Make sure you unchecked “always recompressed” in the export menu, and of course, make sure you are using 100% quality.
