Have you installed anything new since this has been happening? Try doing a system restore and if that does not help, reinstall the application.

Have you recently updated your graphics card driver?

Before drastic solutions try resetting the perferences, with PremierePro x.x hold down the shift key when starting premiere and hold till the recent/new project window appears, as it will reset some parameters to default always check the location of things like scratch disks, etc.

    Try this,

    In the Project window:

To display the Source Window, select your file and right click on the thumbnail at the top left of the project window, select ‘Open in Source Monitor’ from the drop down menu.

In the Project window, you should have a Sequence (and number), if you don’t, you haven’t created one yet, so, right click in the lower half of the Project window, select New Item, and then Sequence. You can Number it what you want. This will display the timeline.

Only had Premiere a week. It’s a nightmare, help is useless, think this is to force you to buy their teachingf and ebooks. Load of rubbish, it just puts people off!
