New to Premier Pro CS6, this makes no sense to me. Why is the audio so damn quiet in the timeline?

I recorded audio on set and physically saw the DB levels hit around -20. When I play it in premier they barely hit -45, and even with the +6DB audio boost they only hit -45.

To test this I opened the same audio in FCP(My former editing software). That same clip played at around -24 DB and hit -12DB when I changed to +12DB.

Can someone please explain to me how to fix this, at this rate I think I’m ready to just export to FCP and finish there 🙁

I can’t say I’ve experience what you’re seeing other than I notice that audio is always louder in the Source monitor than when I drop it into the timeline. But it always seems to be the right levels as recorded originally.

I’m guessing an audio preference somewhere? Maybe Dennis will chime in with some thoughts.
