Premier CS5.5 sound playback stuttering, dropping out with AJA Kona 3
Hi All
The problem I’m having is audio stuttering and dropping out with the an AJA Kona 3 working with XDCAM EX 18025P. There’s no AJA preset for this so I’ve created a custom one based on the XDCAM 1080 25P preset but changing the editing mode to AJA HD 1080 25 psf which appears to be the closest – video plays fine but not the audio. The audio settings are right for the media 48khz 16 bit.
If I use the XDCAM preset audio is fine but of course I can’t see anything on my output monitor and the audio is not routed through the Kona.
My system is OSX 10.6.7; Kona 9.0.5.
Any ideas?

If that doesn’t work, give AJA tech support a jingle. They can usually fix things in a jiffy.

Walter’s tutorial is very helpful – he did not cover the issue I have but someone posted a comment with a similar problem and Walter’s reply fixed my issue:
(Adobe Premiere Pro > Preferences > Audio Hardware. Select anything OTHER than AJA. I have it set to Built In Output. System Preferences > Sound I have the output set to AJA Kona)Andy Taplin
