    hi there

running premiere pro on Windows 7 on an i7 box, but getting really bad performane. could it have to do with preview renders rending to MPEG? i cant find the way to change that codec

timeline renders crash the app… i know its a 30-day trial, but i need it to work to finish this personal project.

    is windows 7 a problem?

    thanks so much

Windows 7 should be fine. The i7 needs a lot of RAM in 64 bit configurations, 8 Gigs minimum in my experience.

What type of Mpeg files are you editing?

    hey thanks

not sure on windows how to assign RAM

my thought with the MPEG was thinking maybe it was a default codec for rendering the timeline to playback. right now when i render sequence just for playback it crashes

i am editing a bunch of medium sized (~800×600) jpegs, i wouldnt think it would be a problem, and am used to fcp, but on this machine, running as CS4 trial, its crashy and buggy as hell

thanks so much… would love this to run smoothly

could the 30-trial or win 7 be cause the automatic crash anytime i try to render unrendered footage?

i like some of the edit/trim tools, but i am much more comfortable with fcp’s very tweakable sequence settings… what gives?!
