Hi all, sorry if this has already been cleared up but… I have Fcp 7 installed on my machine and am itching to upgrade to CS6, I installed the trail today and loved working in premiere. When I took prelude for a spin I only had a few codec options for ingest an important one for me that was missing was all of the ProRes codes. Is this because I was using the trial version? Another thing I noticed is that when I dropped LT files in to Premiere they were yellow barred, this was after I changed my sequence to match the clip. So all in all I’m just curious (before I lay down the 2 grand) if the codes will be part of the full version, and if anyone else has come across this.

To get access to the ProRes codecs for encoding (only available on a Mac), you need to install some Final Cut component. Compressor from the App store is $50. Install that and you’ll get the ProRes component.

Mitchell, heres info on what the color render bar means. Not the same thing as in FCP.

I just worked through this yesterday, because I have ProRes on my Mac, but didn’t see it as an option in Prelude’s presets. You have to open up Adobe Media Encoder and create a new user preset for ProRes, and then it will show up on the list for Quicktime presets within Prelude. Let me know if you need help figuring out how to make presets in Adobe Media Encoder.

I’m having the same problem, and updating Premiere and AME to to 6.0.1 and reinstalling FCPX didn’t fix it. See my thread here: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/3/926026
