Wondering if there is a preferred slot to use for the LHe in a Quad G5. Currently running a Sonnet Tempo card, graphics card, and the LHe. Don’t know if there is any advantage to one slot over the other for any of these cards.

    thanks

Either of the 4 lane slots. Really doesn’t matter like the old PCI-X machines.

cool. That’s what I figured, but thought I’d check with those more in the know.

    Thanks!

If you read the 2 page piece of paper that came with your Sonnet E4P card for your MAC Quad computer (or MAC Pro) – you will see that you MUST install the Sonnet E4P in slot 2 or 4 of the MAC, but NOT slot 3.

yeah, got the Sonnet in Slot 4. That’s why I was wondering if it made a difference with the Kona.
I thought it was interesting that one card specifically called for certain slots while the other didn’t – especially with both being “high bandwidth” hardware.

    thanks.
