  • Precomposing moves 3D layers out of sync?

    Okay, new issue:

I’ve got some graphics moving along a motion path via Dan Ebbert’s “trails” scripts, the ones for position and orientation. I’ve got a 3D camera doing a simple pull back move.

Okay, now when I try to precompose all the layers (graphics, camera, and null with sliders that control graphics) into a new comp with the EXACT SAME SETTINGS, the camera position and timing of the animation is off. Everything seems to shift over, starts later, etc. I’ve double checked between non and precomposed layers and all the settings seem to be exactly the same. I’ve also tried creating a new, blank comp and dragging the comp with the layers into it and the same thing. Argh.

I’ve checked the expression scripts and they don’t seem to be the issue as they’re not comp-named dependent. I’m mostly precomposing to keep my main comp tidy, but it’s really, really frustrating. Any ideas?!

    Thanks…

Thanks. The timing issue may just be an illusion created by the shifting of position. So how could I fix this if I need the anchor point of one of the layers to be shifted? Do I change the anchor point of the new precomp to that of the other anchor point position?

    Thanks again!
