  • Pre Rendering FX Layers?

I’m trying working on a project where we have multiple artist working in AE. We only have one work station with all the trapcode code plug-ins. Is there a way to pre-render specific layers into mov’s so that we can share these files? Is this pre-rendering or Proxies?

You are describing pre-rendering. The pre-render commande renders a comp out at Lossless quality with Alpha and re-imports the rendered file, replacing all instances of the chosen comp with the newly rendered file.

Proxies refers to using a stand-in for your source footage, usually because the original source footage was too large/took too long to render. The proxy is not used in final renders, only during compositing.

You should read up on these in the AE Help (F1)
