  • Pre-comping Auto Orient 3D layers

I basically have a comp with several 3D layers all auto oriented toward camera – my problem is that when I pre-comp these layers and rasterize the comp the layers no longer auto orient toward my camera… (which they should)

i went through and pre-comped less layers than needed to single out layers several times and it still does it
there are no 2D layers in between 3D layers
I have a null as one of the layers but nothing is attached to it
within the pre-comp auto orient is still on.
my camera is controlled by an “x” null and a “y” null both in 3D

Any info would be great – deadline looming

No, they shouldn’t. If you use continuous rasterize/ collapse transformations, the camera in the pre-comp becomes irrelevant and only the camera of the topmost comp is used. The behavior is correct. If you need the auto orient, use expressions. Apply a simple lookAt(position,thisComp.layer(“Camera”).position) to the orientation property of each layer.
