I have a comp with 3d layers and the layers are flying around and everything is great. Then when I pre-comp this comp into another and veiw this new comp in custom 1 view and my pre-comp is 2d? I have a feeling this is because of the dialogue box I checked when I pre-composed either leave attributes or take them. I do not recall which one of these boxes I checked. Please set me straight o this issue.

Also another odd thing that happens w/ pre-comps.

I have an adjustment layers with a mask on it, I’m using this as a track matte for one of the other layers in my comp. When I pre-comp and then adjust the position of the pre-comp my mask is moved or adjusted from the way I original made it. Do this have to do with the pre-comp dialogue box?

    Thanks

    Matt

    Hi,

This has nothing to do with that dialog box. If you precomp multiple layers you only get the one option. What you haven’t done is turn on “Collapse Transformations” on your precomp layer. It’s that thing that looks like a little sun. This will give you back the 3D you were expecting.

With regards to the second question, I’m not quite sure what you’re doing with the track matte. I suspect that because it’s not in the same 3D plane as the layer it’s masking, when you do your animation it’s matting areas you don’t expect it to. I would think it’s working correctly but not in the way you intend.

    Hope that helps,
    Ben
