You formatted it using Disk Utility or the included OWC utility? I ran into the exact same problem a year ago and the solution was to reformat it using Disk Utility. Submitted a bug report, posted on the COW (Kevin from Adobe said it was a known issue) and on Adobe’s forums. Bummer that it’s still an issue.

It’s not mine personally, but at a facility I work at a lot. I did their upgrade and in checking back, I realized the array came performed from OWC. So yes, I guess I need to repartition it using Disk Utility. Argh.

Really annoying bug and it drove me nuts until I figured out what was going on. Thankfully I noticed it right off the bat so I nuking it with Disk Utility wasn’t a problem.

Yes, this app did indeed fix the issue. Anyone else with a similar issue needs to contact the drive maker’s tech support for a similar solution. Evidently custom drive icons (maybe not all, but I don’t know) cause problems with Adobe Premiere Pro’s Media Browser. Removing custom icons – they have to be removed, not simply replaced with a generic icon – fixes the problem.
