To those using PPro 1.5.1 with a Decklink card and having problems with the project manager I may (and I’m cautious when I say may) found an answer as to why you can’t trim with the project manager. Ever since updated to the latest drivers I have lost the ability to trim a project within Adobe. This is what I did to make it work…capture only with your Blackmagic Deck Control, do not use the capture device within Premiere. For some odd reason (again only tried on a test project) when I captured footage using Premiere it would not let me trim the project in manager. Could it be that Blackmagic files with an AVI extension captured within Adobe are the issue? Those captured by BM Deck Control have a Quicktime mov fole extension. Interesting!

I posted the above several days ago and I was surpised that no one responded giving the fact there had several threads regarding PM not working in PPro with BM cards. Yesterday I editing one of our weekly golf tips and low and behold I got PM to work. Again! Same as above…ingested all material using Decklink Deck Control and not with Adobe’s capture program. finished the project and was able to trim it without any problem what-so-ever.
