    Hello,

I have some P2 media cut up in PPro, and I’m tryign to get that back into avid. I thought the easiest thing would be to export a P2 structure in AVCIntra100 that I could simply AMA to in Avid…

But when I export it from PPro, Avid cannot AMA to it. I then tried to load the structure into the P2 Viewer as a virtual volume, and it didn’t see any clips!

The folder is 5GB so there is data there — Adobe can load it back up, but nothing else can…

Am I missing something? Or is this workflow just incompatable– should I be trying something else?

Adobe Premiere does this? Exports to a P2 volume structure?

Do you have a P2 camera or card reader? I’ve written directly from Premiere to a P2 card via 32bit PCMCIA card reader before. The video worked on the camera and that footage worked on another system, so I’m pretty sure the workflow is solid.

Yes, it will also output MXF 0P1a in XDCAM, IMX and DV25.

I hadn’t tried exporting directly to a card. I had exported to a folder, and loaded the folder as a virtual volume in panadonics P2 Viewer utility and it didn’t identify any clips.

Yes AME export to P2 Format.
We have been mastering finished programs to P2 with the Adobe Suite.

Odd, I haven’t tried using P2 viewer to browse exported P2 folders… can you play the clips directly in Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder?

Have you tried exporting the AVCIntra in an MFX 0P1a instead?
