Every time I quit the App, it doesn’t quit normally like it should. I get the unexpectedly quits message. The app then looks like its running in Finder (or App Switcher, Command Tab) and I’ll have to Force Quit, where it says application not responding.

Anyone else had this issue? Or know how to solve it?

Have you tried using Disk Utility to repair permissions? I can’t say for sure that this will make a difference but that would be my first step. If that doesn’t work, rebuilding your directory using Disk Warrior might help. It could also be a Hackintosh issue. Good luck.

Thanks. I’ll try the permissions. I’ve had nothing but issues with the Hackintosh. But unfortunately its not my call. I’m trying to get a new tower! Fingers crossed.

Hmmm…”Hackintosh”…just the word has more adventure than I’m interested in…

If it was Windows, I’d start by asking about any networked printers…but Mac OS is pretty self-contained that way I assume.

Why don’t you first remove the “overclock” on the i7 and get back to us?

uhhhh, what? Have no idea what that is or how to do it. Believe me, this isn’t the first time something hasn’t agreed with this Hackintosh crap.

Maybe “Hacks” are not for you this time around. They require a diligent setup, then they work flawlessly. What exactly is the Hack setup? Motherboard, chipset, bios version….just get a “real” Mac.

Go to Tonymac and do some research, you can probably fix it.

Unfortunately it wasn’t up to me or I’d already be on a MAC Pro. They built 2 Hacks for the price of 1 tower, to try and save money. These were built back before I started, so I was dealt these cards. I’d rather spend the $ upfront, then spend the time later fixing problems. Other than whats in the system profiler (below), I have no idea what specs are used.

Although I do know the GFX card is: AMD Radeon HD 6870
Which says isn’t supported by Premiere, but read others have used it and had no problems. Maybe this is it. But would think not, because I used PProCS6 to just cut about 6 videos. Import 7D footage, edit, export to ProRes, all with no issues. Only when I Quit.

That info really does not tell anything. It shows what YOU told the computer to look like for OSX. The actual hardware would be in the bios.

You can try changing the Model ID to an iMac, sometimes that lets OSX have better access to updated “drivers”. MacPro is an old Machine ID and does not have USB3 or any of the other new technologies.

Running an internal Raid 1 on a hack. That might be the problem right there. But maybe not. External Raid 5, maybe the card is not behaving? Why not take this discussion to a site that deals with Hacks specifically?

Also, 10.8 Mountain Lion has direct support for i7 chips, USB3 etc…just sayin’. You would need to do a new vanilla install.

Thanks Erik, will do. All this is beyond my scope of knowledge. I’ll stick to editing. Appreciate the help. Thanks.
