  • PPro crash during render: Low on System Memory

    Hello,

I’m posting this for a friend, I did not see the actual error message.
He was working with a mid-sized project (he’s done some approx. twice the size) on a Dual-Core Dual CPU 2.9 Ghz Xeon (Win XP SP2) and 4GB of RAM (32 bit, so the system only sees 3Gb)

He had just saved the project and was trying to render the timeline (not export, just the timeline-preview render) when he got an error message like the following:

    Error Compiling Movie

“Premiere is running low on system memory”

“Save your project and procede with caution”

When he tried to save it again Premiere crashed. He tried to shut down the computer, windows hung.

Has anyone seen this sort of behavior before? We’ve not had trouble with Premiere (it’s Premiere Pro CS3, BTW) on this computer before. Does “low on system memory” simply mean running out of RAM? I tried searching the forums and Adobe’s documentation site but I did not find anything that matched.

    Thanks,

    JW

I worked on a clients project that kept crashing. I reimported it into a new project then removed unused from the project menu. It seemed to stop crashing after that.
