  PPro 2.0 compliant Audio Card – Question

  I just bought a new editing workstation and it shipped without a sound card. I need to add a sound card although I’m not too savvy on hardware.

  I looked at the “certified” cards on the Adobe site, and most seem like overkill for my needs. I don’t need XLR inputs, or “HD” audio quality. My projects are destined for the web which means compressing the audio and video.

  I’ve been using a 3 year old Creative Audigy 2 ZS without any issues to speak of.

  The most important feature is a front panel mounted or desktop breakout box. I actually use my current breakout box and can’t imagine my work flow without that option.

  So for a guy that’s about 3 years out of the hardware loop – any audio card suggestions in the $200 price point range?
