    Howdy guys,

I work in a large broadcast company that uses a mixture of avid & fcp suites.
We still rely on PPM meters for our audio metering.
To try and keep QC across both suites (and our older linear suites) i was wondering if any one knows of any PPM metering software that can run on our FCP suites?
I know youre going to ask why we cant rely on DFS metering but we only have a small number of FCP suites and there for not many editors will get a chance to use them regularly.
So therefore i thought it would be a nice idea if there was a 3rd part application we could run that would sit on the desktop (similar to BigTime’s time-code display)
And least then theres a straightforward point of reference for all our editors no matter if they work in Avid or FCP
    Any suggestions?

try https://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/ppm.php there is a free demo , has many different settings.

It is on the audio input, you need to re-direct fcp output to it using the free soundflower application.

Hi Steve, I too have bought that plugin and hooked it up to soundflower, however I can’t figure out how to listen to the output of my black magic board at the same time, any tips?

All we do is to set the output of FCP to soundflower the select 16 track on the output of soundflower. Only thing we have is even after trawling through all the settings in both soundflower and PPMulator is that after 10 minutes or so all we get is a loud buzzing. Strange thing is that ONE of the 10 suites is OK?????

And we have been through all the settings and matched them.

Old editors never die, we simply fade to black
