  • PP2.0- “export to tape” grayed out (not selectable)

    I have been doing this for too long for this to be a newbie screw up, besides I haven’t changed any settings in PP and they all look good.

    I captured though my ADVC-100 (SD) and edited my video and when it came time to “export to tape”… it is all grayed out and not an option. (it allows me to export to anything else I want but ‘tape’.
    Here is the kicker if I play the video from the timeline window, the video image will play but the audio will not. (ie PP is letting video go though the firewire cable and my DV converter box. And yes all my audio setting is correct (48K, 16bit. )
    to answer some of your questions in advance:
    Windows does recognize and list the DV device is connected.
    I swapped out firewire cable (although I know it is working),
    I swapped out the DV device, ie the ADVC-100,
    I changed projects.
    made a new project… nothing I did will make export to tape selectable.

    I did a large search on CC the closest thing anybody having the same problem is back in 2005, and that post was no help

    Time to reinstall this P.O.S. ????????

    {{ I exported ‘movie’ to avi, swapped drives to the one with PP1.5 and exported to tape… no problems, but that doesn’t solve my problem, it just lets me complete my job on time}}

    Similar problem on a clients PC…no DV video out. Although I cannot solve the underlying problem without trying a format, the workaround appears to be accessing Playback settings and even though “DV 29.97i (720 x 480)” was selected as the External Device, clicking the drop down menu and reselecting the same enabled DV out. Hope this helps.

    [EvanAVP] “I captured though my ADVC-100 (SD) and edited my video and when it came time to “export to tape”… it is all grayed out and not an option. (it allows me to export to anything else I want but ‘tape’.”
    Do you have Canopus and advc100 selected under Device Control options in the Preferences menu

    [EvanAVP] “the video image will play but the audio will not.”
    Do you have External Device selected vice Desktop Audio in Playback Settings under General Project Settings

    Thank you. That did it. I some how lost the custom device… it went to generic.
