PP2, very poor quality Adobe Media encoder
Has anyone else found the Adobe Media Encoder to be of very poor quality? I made some MPEG1 and Windows Media clips of various bitrates and sizes and they are all soft. There’s no sharpness at all.
Has anyone else found the encoder to be soft? PP 1.5 export encoder was fine, not sure what is up with this latest version, though.

Solved my own problem. There’s a Deinterlace checkbox on top of the encoder which is not on by default. If left unchecked, the encodes look soft. If checked, sharpness is where it should be.
I guess this checkbox is deceptive, it should maybe say “deinterlaces and quality resizing/sampling” or something. No way that box is only deinterlacing!!!!
