  • PP2 crashed when exporting with “all” tracks locked

It seems every week a new bug hits me these days 😉

Now, I’m wondering if anyone came across this one. An export to the media encoder, or a movie export for that matter, with all tracks locked seems the trigger a “slow crash”, of Premiere itself. The export window freezes up with HD activity, but nothing renders, and it actually ends in a “serious Error has occurred” type crash.

    Anyone ?

Maybe I’m missing something but why do you need to have the tracks locked?

I always lock my tracks when I’m done with editing a track, it’s one way to avoid incidental changes after a review. It’s not so much that they have to be locked for the export, it’s that it crashes when they are locked, and that it took me quite a while to figure it out; I hope it may help others as well.

I think if it is a widespread issue, it certainly should be fixed, and if it is, I will report it to Adobe as a bug.

    Thats very wierd,

because I just experienced the same sort of issue. I’ve been exporting all sorts of things for weeks/months w/o problem. Now for some reason my PPro2 started crashing every time I started an export a particular (final/locked) sequence.

It appears because I had all my tracks locked… so thank u for figuring that out, because I was really stumped!

… and I too will be curious to hear an explanation for this occurance.

    Thanks,

I render and export locked all the time with no problems, when Premiere(all adobe products for the most part) starts to act wonky try rebuilding the Preferences file or with Ppro the Plugin Cache File, second is to reduce the ammount of old project files, all the project files are read at startup whether used or not, or something may have been corrupted in the system.
