Anyone using Sony XDCAM EX with premiere Pro CS4?

When I download clips in Sony Clip Browser I can name the clips. When I open PP the clips show up in the clip bin but only with the original file names. The names I gave them will not show up, no matter the options chosen for the clip bin. After selecting a clip, the names do show up in the preview window.

But if you have 50 clips in the clip bin, it’s random guessing which clips you are choosing. Extremely frustrating.

    Anyone know of a workaround?

So you’re renaming the clips AFTER you drag them onto your editing hard drive? You CANNOT rename them BEFORE you drag them into the hard drive foldere.

    I don’t understand your comment.

The Sony Clip Browser software allows adding clip names to the meta data during download from the SxS card to any hard drive. That name is not showing up anywhere in the clip bin of PP. It will show up in the preview after selecting the clip from the clip bin. Other meta data can be displayed in the clip bin such as frame rate, date, clip length, etc. But user added meta data will not display.

so I have to randomly guess at what the clip is and display it on the preview to verify.
