I imported a FCP XML from my client today which is an audio only project with WAV source files.

    The XML imports fine except:

    1) All the clips in the sequence have the volume level yellow line at the bottom of the range ie max attenuation. It took some time to go through and bring all the levels up to 0db level. Must be an issue with PP import of FCP XML.

    2) Stereo WAV files are shown in the clip bin as stereo wav but on the timeline the each stereo clip is entered as 2 audio tracks. I tried modifying the clip audio channels but that does not help with the imported XML.

Anyone else come across this with any solutions?

    Cheers

Are these actual music/audio effects/Voice Over files? How are they being used in FCP?

Multiclips have a hard time being XML’d over and may need to be uncollapsed to reveal the actual clips.

Hi. The client supplied the files but they are stereo 44.1 wave clips of vote and actuality and music. He had roughly track laid for me and I tweaked and mixed the final mix. So straight wave from client with XML file consisting of main sequence and a single sub sequence which was a simple cut between audio clips.

On import all clip yellow lines on timeline are at bottom so muted.if you open the timeline clip in the source monitor the audio plays fine so the problem is in pop import or interpretation of the sequence settings.

Not sure if this is a pointer but here is an excerpt from the FCP xml of a clip in the timeline:

    Audio Levels
    audiolevels
    audiolevels
    audiolevels
    audio Level level 0
    3.98109
    1

Looks like level value is set to 1, not sure if this is 0db or low. Anyone know?
