PP CS5.5 behaving very strangely…
Hi all,
Having some probs with PPro CS5.5 (Mac 10.6.8) and think it *might* be something to do with my Quadro 4000 card…wondered if anyone on here might shed some light on what parts of PP the GPU card could or would/not affect to help me troubleshoot towards a solution?…..
Installed Quadro at pretty much same time as CS5.5 and not having these problems on other macs in our studio (with standard ATI cards installed)
Spoken to PNY who don’t seem to have a clue and blaming Adobe (they just asked if I had upto drivers install, switch it on/off, etc..then shrugged their shoulders) but for ref I’ve currently got:
• GPU Driver Version: 1.6.37.0 (256.02.25f01
• CUDA Driver Version: 4.0.21 (installed this yesterday when became available, but was playing up before this)Probs:
• PP suddenly quits, even when it’s sat there with no user interaction and not processes running
• Source and/or Program viewers occasionally go black (no video) machine restart sometime fixes.
• Audio meters flickering on playback of timeline to indicate audio, but nothing coming out of speakers. Same clip played through source monitor and audio plays fine.
• PP sometimes crashes out before app has even loaded sometimes.Annoying, cos PP absolutely flies with Mercury Engine running (when it works)!

Try the standard problem solvers…delete preferences for Premiere Pro and repair permissions for starters.
