PP CS4 Audio Sync Issue
Hi,
I am using Premiere Pro CS4, and am working on an HD project in 30F. I have captured about 20 or so tapes am have been editing furiously, and long story short, SOMETIMES when I put my footage files from the bin into my timeline there is an audio sync problem. I can play the base files in VLC just fine.
There are some unusual characteristics to this. Sometimes it is noticeable when I first scrub through the footage, but most times it is NOT present and will appear after having closed the program and opened it again later, or even several times later.
Also, it is not a gradual delay, I can usually pinpoint the part of the clip where the audio goes from in sync to out. So far as I can tell this always happens when my footage cuts from one shot to the next, but that might not be accurate since this problem usually happens after I’ve already cut a full scene.
Last, and most importantly: there have been several instances where I caught out of sync audio BEFORE I made a cut, adjusted it and cut the scene, and then later the audio was BACK in sync (effectively screwing up my edits). What’s up with that?

I’ve had the same problem working with H.264 files with a .m2ts extension. (along with different problems in other pro-level video editing programs) If that’s what you’re working with…I’ve found no real solution except re-encoding the file before you even start working with it.

I wondered if you managed to get any further with the audio sync problem I am using CS4 and have 32 hours of HDV imported and am finding half way through the tape the sync slips its ..not good
did you find any fixes
