  PP CS3 + Matrox compatible with Quicktime Alternative?

  I’d like to install Quicktime Alternative, as it includes a MPEG2 codec that would allow me to convert DVDs into video files for editing. Is Quicktime Alternative compatible with Premiere Pro CS3 and Matrox RTX2 hardware? I can’t post on the Matrox forums due to it’s restrictive registration system.

  Would there be any harm in simply leaving my Apple Quicktime installation intact, and installing Quicktime Alternative on top of it?
