I have a student who bought PP CC. We use PP CS6 in class.

    She has 1920 x 1080i footage 29.97 .

She imports into PP CC , the clip comes in as 14.99 fps
    It plays in slowmotion.

I import into pp CS6 , The same clip come in as 29.97fps
    It plays in real time.

What has she done? She’s a newbie.

Probably nothing wrong. She might try using media browser panel instead of import or drag and drop from the OS to see if she gets’s a different result.

Footage should be able to be interpreted in the project panel and set to the correct rate if those approaches don’t resolve it.

There is definitely something wrong. I am having the same problem: A clip which is actually 29.97 fps (verified using QT properties) is importing as 1/2 framerate, or 14.985 (rounded up to 14.99) fps. This happens with several of my clips, regardless of the import method used (drag/drop from OS, right-click/import, or use Media Browser). I cannot interpret the footage back to 29.97, as doing so doubles the speed of the audio (an interview), making it unusable.

Just found a fix for this. Open in quicktime, and select File>Export>1080p. It takes a few minutes, and likely degrades the quality a bit, but at least it fixes the frame rate issue.
