Hope I can explain this correctly. My OMFs are coming into the DAWs in a different way.

    IN PPCC 2014
Timeline audio tracks are setup up as standard and in default track setup “use file”

So on A1, for instance, I can lay down a mono track, stereo or 5.1. It will take whatever I give it.

So lets say that I have both a stereo track and a mono track on A1. If I export an OMF to AUDITION or ProTools from PP CC 2014 (v8), the DAW will create 3 new tracks:
    Audio1_L, (stereo L)
    Audio1_R, (stereo R)
    Audio 1, (Mono)

Although this is logically, in PP CC (v7) it would have created only 2 tracks, Audio1_L and Audio1_R and my stereo would have remained in stereo and my mono would show up mirrored on A1_L and A1_R.

OMF’s out of PPCC2014 (v8) come in to the DAW messy. Imagine you have 8 tracks, well now it could be up to 24 and the engineer needs to decipher what goes where.

OMF’s seemed to come out of PPCC (v7) and into the DAW on the tracks that they were designed to be on.

Please let me know if something has changed or I am simply overlooking something.

    Thank you in advance.
