Premiere Pro CC 2014 is locking up when I try to export. I set my in and out points then cmd+m (have also tried to file menu) and it just stops doing anything. A click on the screen results in the error sound.

A few of the times (like right now) I can’t even force quit. I do the keystroke or go to the menu and nothing will come up and attempting to shut down my system via the menu results in “The application Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 canceled shut down.”

Weird thing is that I rendered three pieces from the same project before lunch, but when I came back to do the 4th, that’s when the problem started.

I’ve tested with a different project using CC. I open it in CC and it renders fine. Open it in CC 2014, save it as a new project, render…nothing. Lock up.

    Mac Pro 3,1
    OS X 10.9.2
    20GB Ram
    GeForce GTX 680

    Thanks for any insight.

I’m getting very similar behavior from Premiere Pro and Media Encoder. Freezing, locking things up, and can’t shut down the computer. Although for me it’s usually when I try to quit Premiere Pro, the screen goes away, but it never actually shuts down. I get the same message about PPro canceling shutdown. Force quit does not really do much. Have you reported this to Adobe? It might be a good idea to go to tech support (I’ve used the chat option) and let them know what’s going on so they can make an update to fix the problem. They told me to just uninstall and reinstall the software, but that didn’t help. For the time being, I wouldn’t start any new projects in CC2014 and just use a previous version if you have one.

Adobe support was able to resolve this for me. It turned out to be something to do with the codecs in my Quicktime folder. Not exactly sure what he did. I now have a temp folder on my desktop with 18 codecs, but my actual Quicktime folder has 20 codecs so I definitely didn’t lose anything.
