PP CC 2014 – is it ready for prime time? What’s the skinny?

Define ‘ready for prime time’.

Many of us around here are using it to delivery for broadcast and features every day.
And I think a newcomer called, Fincher, or something, has cut has last few films with it.

But your mileage may vary.

Like any of the 3A’s, you can cut any type of project on it very efficiently. If your coming from FCP7, other than a few missing keyboard commands, it has everything you’ve ever had and a ton of stuff you’ve never had before. I’m just completing a 26 show series for PBS and have been very happy coming over from FCP7. What specifically are you worried about?

Thanks for the replies, guys. What i was worried about was when 2014 first came out, it was pretty buggy, and we had tried it and had problems, but that was almost a year ago, so just checking. i’ve been using CC 6 and CC 7 and they’ve both been pretty stable, but based on these responses today, it sounds like i should make the move to 2014. i hear you can actually modify things like AE lower thirds right on the PP2014 timeline, which would be great.

PPro 2014 is very stable at this point. Of course CC 2015 is just around the corner, and there are generally issues when a new version of anything comes out.

For Me 2014.1 was a great update and stable. (seems like every other release works well)

2014.2 not so much, so I reverted to 2014.1. waiting for 2015 to try.

oops! mine installed 14.2…so we’ll see! so far, so good! those imbedded AE graphics (lower thirds, mostly) are pretty darn slow though…

the issues I got with 2014.2 (mac version) were random spinning beach ball
as well as sluggish mult-camera editing.
