Here is an odd issue that has turned up. When I click and drag a .mov file to a sequence – no audio track shows. If I click and drag the same .mov file to make a sequence directly – the audio track shows up in the sequence. In CS6 PP – if I click and drag the same .mov file to a sequence – the audio file shows up in the sequence.

If I right click the .mov file in the project window I can edit it in Audition even though no audio track shows in a sequence and it makes an Audition extracted track, which I can then add into the sequence.

Is this another “feature” from Adobe or somehow a “feature” of my system??

I like the way it worked in CS6 PP – if it is a new “feature” from Adobe, I don’t like it at all!!!

Any thoughts as to what is going on??

Note: Not that it should matter but the .mov files are coming from a little point and shoot Nikon S8200 with 1080p/30fps that I use mostly for fun.

    Thanks!!

    Hi Jim,
Load the clip into the Source Monitor. Check your Timeline. Is your Timeline patched correctly? If so, try it again. If not, patch it correctly, then drag/drop.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Followup to 1st post –

Same thing happened with a Canon .mov file.

    Were your tracks patched?

    Kevin –

Not sure what you mean by “Is your Timeline patched correctly?”

Double clicking the clip plays the clip in the source monitor with audio – when I insert the clip from source monitor into the sequence – the audio vanishes.

In CS6 PP – using the same sequence properties it works just fine.

    Thanks!

For those of you that don’t know about patching tracks and other stuff – see this link – it was very helpful:

Following up: I assume that your tracks were not patched properly?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Correct – in past versions (CS6) I had not run into this – so it surprised me. I had to search out what you were talking about “patched tracks”. Not sure if I like it or not – maybe once I get used to it I’ll learn to love it.

Thanks for pointing out what I needed to research.
