I know this has already probably been addressed (somewhere!), but I have a three disk setup, with the OS and program installations running on an SSD. Now I have two other drives that I would like setup ideally such that I could simultaneously read from one while writing to the other. How might I best achieve this? Should captured a/v be on one drive with previews on the other? Which drive should hold the project files–the same one holding captured?

I don’t BELIEVE that RAID (0) provides any additional benefits with just the two disks–they are just SATA 6 connected: again my thinking is that one will serve primarily for reading while the other for writing, but I’m open to correction on this assumption.

Additionally, I’ve seen recommendations about page files being located specifically. I assume this refers to the OS (Win7 in my case) page files, but aren’t they best kept on my SSD/OS drive?

As you can see, I’m a little fuzzy on this, and would really appreciate some elucidation!

    Thanks!

Thank you for that John! Yes, that does indeed cover it.
Looks like I was close–but I had overlooked the cache locations which the page you referred me to goes into.

Thus, I do indeed keep my OS pagefile on the SSD, the source and project files on drive D:, and the preview/output/export files AND the cache files (including the DB) on drive D:.

    Yes, simple, once you know!

    Cheers,
    Sam
