PP 2.0 Region filter
Does anyone know if PP 2.0 has a region filter? I would liket to apply an effect to a portion of a clip.

Use one of the garbage matte filters.

You would have to use the clip twice…once full screen, then once again above the first clip with the garbage matte applied to restrict the area that the second clip occupies.
The problem with the garbage matte has for this sort of thing is that it can’t soften the edge like the Canopus filter can. You might want to try a track matte if that’s important.

Hi Tim. The Canopus look is exactly what I was getting at. I have been waiting forever for the new premiere in hopes it was included. I use this filter allot. It is extremely time consuming and cumbersome to have to duplicate clips. Any tutorials on the track matte that you know of?

I’ve got a project on Steven’s (Gotz…see head above) website on using a track matte for a title…I would think Chris Wrigley would have something on his site…
The track matte behavior has changed from PPro 1.x to v2…so that’s important. The tutorials out there are for v1.x at this point I suspect.
