  PP 2.0 not seeing avi files with mpeg audio tracks

  I have a project that was created on another system and when I try to open it Premiere Pro 2.0 says files do not match- orig are video and audio- new are video only. One clip does open however and it’s audio is uncompressed PCM file- all the others have 192kbps mpeg audio files. It will save me a tremendous amount of time if I can get the original avi files to be recognized and imported properly- at this point they all end up offline.
