    Hi,

A client would like me to take some slides from a PowerPoint presentation and to incorporate these slides into some video that I have shot. I need to import the PowerPoint files into AE in such a way that all the text layers etc remain editable (i.e. it’s not sufficient to render a movie out of PowerPoint and import the movie into AE).

I’m pretty sure I’ll end up manually re-creating the presentation in AE but does anyone know of a less laborious way to import PowerPoint presentations into AE?

(I’m using AE 7 Pro and Open Office 2.2, all on WinXP Pro)

    Thanks,
    Jack

i’m not sure if this would save you much time over cutting-and-pasting, but dan ebbert has a script on his site, motionscrpit.com, that will create a text layer from each line of a text file that you point it at.

here’s the link, you will need to paste the script into a text editor and save as a .jsx file (you can save as a text file and change the tag to .jsx):

    https://www.motionscript.com/ae-scripting/create-text-layers-from-file.html

you will also need to export your slides as a text file of maybe a word document and then save as a text file.

personally, i think i’d try cutting-and-pasting from power point to ae.
