Hey everyone have a problem I figure this may be the forum to ask. I am thinking of running “4 pin power” down my 300′ eng. multi-core reels to power my Jvc/Sony cameras. My thought is I can split a 50 watt power supply to two cameras, I’m just trying to figure out if it would cause interference and how bad the loss would be?

    Any one have any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Chuck

I do it with robotic cameras. We go 300meters on cat-5.

The trick is to feed 48vdc and then use a switching converter at the camera end to get the right power for the camera.

Is the converter something you purchased or built yourself? Where can I find some specs?

    Thanks,
